Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our website or engaging our watch repair and restoration services. By submitting an enquiry, dropping off a timepiece, or using this website, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.

2. Acceptance of Terms
By using this website or engaging our services, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- The information you provide to us is accurate and complete.
3. Service Description
Horolume provides professional watch repair, mechanical servicing, and timepiece restoration. Our three principal service levels are:
- Dial-Ready Refresh (RM 600): battery renewal, seal and gasket checks, glass and case cleaning, bracelet adjustment.
- Movement Service (RM 2,240): full movement teardown, cleaning, lubrication, accuracy adjustment, and timing machine verification.
- Keepsake Restoration (RM 4,560): complete movement service combined with case refinishing, dial work, and period-appropriate parts sourcing for vintage and sentimental timepieces.
Services are available to clients in Malaysia. Work is carried out exclusively at our George Town premises.
4. Service Intake and Scope
- All services begin with an assessment. No work is started without your knowledge and agreement.
- If additional work or parts are required beyond the agreed scope, we will contact you to discuss and obtain consent before proceeding.
- Prices listed are per timepiece. Parts required beyond the service scope are quoted separately.
- We reserve the right to decline any job at our discretion — for example, if a movement is beyond recoverable repair or we lack the specific tooling required.
5. Client Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the timepiece's history and known condition.
- Disclose any prior repairs or modifications you are aware of.
- Collect your timepiece within 60 days of notification of completion. After this period, we reserve the right to charge reasonable storage fees.
- Inform us if the timepiece has sentimental or collector value so appropriate care levels can be discussed.
6. Payment
- All prices are quoted and payable in Malaysian Ringgit (RM).
- Payment is due on collection of the timepiece unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- We accept cash and bank transfer. Specific payment arrangements can be discussed at intake.
- We do not offer refunds on completed services unless the work demonstrably falls below the agreed standard. Any dispute should be raised within 14 days of collection.
- Parts sourced for your job remain your property upon payment of the applicable service fee.
7. Service Timelines
- Estimated turnaround times are provided at assessment and are indicative, not binding commitments.
- Delays arising from parts availability, unforeseen movement complexity, or circumstances outside our control will be communicated to you promptly.
- Restoration projects involve planned timelines agreed at intake, with progress notes issued at each meaningful stage.
8. Care of Timepieces
- All timepieces are logged in on arrival and stored securely when not on the work bench.
- We take reasonable care of all items in our possession. However, we are not liable for pre-existing damage, latent faults, or deterioration arising from the age or condition of the piece.
- We do not hold insurance on client property while in our care. Clients with high-value pieces may wish to arrange their own insurance cover for the service period.
- In the unlikely event of accidental damage caused by our negligence, liability is limited to the cost of the service paid.
9. Disclaimers
- Watch repair involves inherent uncertainty — particularly with aged or previously modified movements. We cannot guarantee specific accuracy outcomes for heavily worn movements.
- Restoration of vintage timepieces may not return them to original factory specification in all cases. We disclose any limitations before proceeding.
- Website content is provided for information purposes and does not constitute a binding quote or service commitment.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted under Malaysian law:
- Our total liability in connection with any service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that specific service.
- We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including loss of use or sentimental value.
- We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, layout, and design — is the property of Horolume or used with permission. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any part of this website for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
12. Termination of Service
- You may withdraw your timepiece at any point before work commences, at no charge.
- If work has begun, a partial fee reflecting the work completed may apply.
- We may decline to complete a service if the client's conduct is unreasonable or if continuing would be technically inadvisable.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute should first be raised directly with us in writing. We will endeavour to resolve disputes amicably within 30 days. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Penang, Malaysia, consistent with the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and applicable Malaysian law.
14. General Provisions
- Entire agreement: These terms, together with any written quotation, constitute the entire agreement between us.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining terms remain in effect.
- Waiver: Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
- Assignment: You may not transfer your rights under this agreement without our written consent.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, identified by the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of our website or services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
